Power BI Refresh Error:
MARKETPLACE_LISTING_ACCESS_DENIED

What does this error mean?

An attempt to access or query a Snowflake Marketplace listing was denied because the consumer account lacks an approved listing request, the listing has been revoked, or the account region is not supported by the provider.

Common causes

  • 1The Marketplace listing requires provider approval and the consumer's request has not yet been approved or was denied
  • 2The listing was removed or unpublished by the provider after the consumer account was granted access
  • 3The consumer account is in a cloud region or government cloud tier that the listing's data sharing configuration does not support

How to fix it

  1. 1Step 1: In the Snowflake Marketplace UI, navigate to My Data Products and verify the listing status — check whether your access request is Pending, Approved, or Revoked.
  2. 2Step 2: If the request is pending, contact the data provider directly through the listing's contact information.
  3. 3Step 3: If your account is in a region not covered by the listing, check the listing page for the supported regions and consider using cross-region replication if the provider supports it.
  4. 4Step 4: Verify that the ACCOUNTADMIN role is being used to accept listing terms — some listings require account-level acceptance before consumer roles can query the shared data.

Frequently asked questions

Can I query a Marketplace listing without ACCOUNTADMIN?

You can query the data once access is granted and the database is mounted, but the initial listing request and acceptance of terms must be performed by a user with the ACCOUNTADMIN role.

Does removing a Marketplace listing immediately break consumer queries?

Yes. If a provider removes or revokes a listing, consumer accounts lose access immediately and queries against the shared database will return an access denied error.
